Fordle Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 7, 2026
Fordle is a daily word game you play with friends and family. This policy describes what data is processed and how it is used.
Data Collected
- Account identity: email address, username, avatar (emoji), Firebase Authentication UID.
- App data: rooms, room membership, invite codes, puzzle attempts (guesses and results), daily rankings, friend requests, career stats (e.g. puzzles played, solve rate, streaks), and notification preferences.
- Device/app technical data: push token (FCM/APNs) for notifications, and any client-side logs used for diagnosing issues.
How Data Is Used
- To authenticate you and secure access to your data.
- To run the game: daily puzzles per room, validating guesses, storing results, and showing rankings to room members.
- To manage rooms (create, join, invite codes, host approval) and friend connections.
- To send push notifications when you have enabled them (e.g. daily reminder, friend/room activity).
- To detect and fix app quality issues using limited event logs where needed.
Notifications
You can control notification preferences in the app. If permissions are disabled at the OS level, Fordle cannot deliver notifications.
Data Sharing
Fordle does not sell personal data. Data is processed through Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions) as required for the app to operate. Room members see each other’s usernames and puzzle results within that room.
Data Retention
- Account and app data (profiles, rooms, attempts, stats) are kept while your account and rooms are active.
- When you delete your account, Fordle removes account-linked app data via backend deletion flows.
Security
Fordle uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore Security Rules, and server-side Cloud Functions to enforce access control and data integrity.
Your Choices
- Update your username, avatar, and notification preferences in app settings.
- Leave rooms or delete your account from app settings.
